Last Wednesday, we had several volunteers come out to Notre Dame High School to demonstrate what it's like being a student at UCR and a bioengineer. They also used demonstrations, like displaying an electromyogram's output while arm wrestling, to show real-life applications of bioengineering technology. Thank you to our volunteers for helping inspire the next generation of engineers!
If you're interested in volunteering for our future outreach events, keep an eye out for updates from us. We're also opening up volunter positions for the biggest outreach event of the year, Bioengineering Day! Click here for the form to apply. A big shout out and thank you to our volunteers for helping us out in leading the students of Paakuma Middle School around campus to introduce them to the field of bioengineering! Throughout the morning, students got to see what it's like to be a college student and a student of BCOE, have a hands-on experience with bioengineered tools like an EMG or a brainwave-operated toy, walk through the senior design exhibition, and take a tour of UCR. We hope next year's Bioengineering Day will be an even greater success!
